We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our team and lead our Controls team, a workstream within the Development Engineering group.
The Opportunity
The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for supervising a team of senior engineers in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for various industrial processes or automation projects. This role will involve working in a research and development environment on cutting-edge products and technologies.
The primary focus of this role will involve:
- Leading the design, programming, installation, commissioning, debugging, and testing of control systems used for process machinery or desktop prototypes.
- Developing fundamental design concepts from initiation through to R&D or production equipment.
- Leading a team of skilled engineers, providing guidance and direction, mentoring, and development.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams within R&D and Operations to provide state-of-the-art equipment solutions.
About You
To be successful, you will be degree qualified in an Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering discipline or equivalent. You will need to demonstrate extensive experience of Siemens PLC control systems, HMI Configuration, and SCADA type systems. Proven experience in a related role where you have designed complex engineering solutions and demonstrated a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving is essential.
You will bring leadership skills, ideally from line management, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. We are looking for someone with passion to lead a team and grow their individual and team success. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a regulated environment.
