Financial Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team at Gresham House. As a key member of our Real Assets Division, you will be responsible for delivering commercial thinking and business partnership to our leading Fund Management teams.
The Financial Controller role has been created to support the growth of our business, and we are looking for a motivated and self-starter individual who excels in an entrepreneurially-minded environment. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of exciting businesses, including financial management, supervision, and review of internal and external fund administrators and finance managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of businesses, including financial management, supervision, and review of internal and external fund administrators and finance managers.
- Deliver commercial thinking and business partnership to our leading Fund Management teams.
- Take responsibility for a mixture of Forestry funds, individually managed Forestry client accounts, and Renewable and New Energy funds clients in the Real Assets Division.
- Work closely with the other Financial Controller in Real Assets to ensure a coordinated approach.
- Develop and implement financial management processes and best practices to maximize financial performance.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, including external boards and investors.
Requirements:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) qualification.
- PQE in a multi-business environment which operates at a pace.
- Finance business partnering is key.
- Statutory accounting knowledge and good knowledge of VAT and tax.
- Strong aptitude for numbers and ability to deal with complex legal structures and governance arrangements.
- Able to communicate effectively, build relationships, and adapt to anyone within the broader team and business leaders.
- Ability to take ownership and deliver with a 'can-do' attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational and time management skills.
- An efficient, reliable, and thorough approach.
- Drive and initiative - the desire to add value, a proactive approach.
- Demonstrate confidence and gravitas when presenting and dealing with senior people.
