About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Technician to join our team at Thames Water. As an ICA Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water treatment and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on defective equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to install, modify, and commission new plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in systems and plants, and implement cost-effective improvements to assets and systems.
  • Investigate plant failures and implement subsequent repairs.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and support to the team.
Requirements
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and communication network systems.
  • Experience with variable speed drives and other starting methods for motors/pumps.
  • Qualifications in instrumentation, control, and automation, such as HNC or City and Guilds Part 2.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional service and work accurately and flexibly within a busy team.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary up to £45,000 per annum.
  • Base location in Bicester or Witney.
  • Provision of a company van.
  • 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Annual leave and contributory pension scheme.
