Detailed Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Control Automation (ICA) Technician to join our team in Oxford. As an ICA Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving our water treatment and distribution systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on defective equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians, to install, modify, and commission new plant equipment.
  • Investigate plant failures, diagnose root causes, and implement repairs to ensure system reliability and optimal performance.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and support to the team, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and communication network systems, as well as instrumentation, including flow, level, and pressure.
  • Familiarity with variable speed drives (VSDs) and other starting methods for motors/pumps.
  • Hold a relevant qualification, such as HNC, City and Guilds Part 2, or NVQ level 3, in an instrumentation, control, and automation discipline.
  • Desirable qualifications include the 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification and 3-phase electrical knowledge.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces, with successful completion of relevant training.
