About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Workplace Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in driving improvements in safety, quality, and productivity across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a site safety strategy, ensuring compliance with Amazon's global safety policies and UK health and safety legislation.
  • Lead and manage a team of health and safety professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure delivery of objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate health and safety risks, implementing effective controls and processes.
  • Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to stakeholders, ensuring a culture of safety and inclusivity.
  • Review and audit health and safety management arrangements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce health and safety risks, recommending and implementing mitigations and processes.
  • Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for health and safety metrics, driving behavioral culture change and continuous improvement.
About the Team

Our Workplace Health and Safety team plays a critical role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. We work closely with managers, associates, and local governments to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe.

Requirements
  • Education to a degree level and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level.
  • Experience managing and leading a team, with a proven track record of driving health and safety improvements.
  • Proficient knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its application.
  • Understanding of UK environment, health, and safety legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
