Senior Health and Safety Manager, UK WHS ATS

This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon's Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team as a Senior Health and Safety Manager, UK WHS ATS. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving improvements in safety, quality, and productivity across our sites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Strategies: Define a site safety strategy and lead on its implementation to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Lead the Onsite Safety Team: Manage the health and safety team at the Sortation Centre, including supervision of staff to ensure delivery of objectives.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Proactively engage in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites to drive improvements and best practices.
- Provide Expert Advice and Guidance: Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
- Review and Audit Health and Safety Arrangements: Review and audit arrangements for health & safety management and continuously improve these arrangements where appropriate.
- Develop and Implement Mitigations and Processes: Provide strategies to plan and organise work systems to reduce health & safety risks, recommending, and implementing mitigations and processes.
- Ensure Robust Reporting Regimes: Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety metrics.
- Provide Management Information and Statistics: Provide management information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
- Support Business Change: Support business change through effective change management processes within the fast-paced SC environment.
- Drive Behavioural Culture Change: Drive behavioural culture change programme across a large, complex, multi-shift operation.
- Implement and Review Global/EU Safety Policies: Implementation and review of company global/EU safety policies ensuring that local HSE requirements are met.
- Proxy for the UK WHS Regional Leader: Where required, proxy for the UK WHS Regional Leader.

Requirements- Education and Qualifications: Education to a degree level and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level.
- Experience and Skills: Experience managing and leading a team, proficient knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and its application, understanding of UK Environment, Health and Safety legislation, and advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
