Job Overview
As a Health & Safety Business Partner, you'll play a vital role in fostering a robust and sustainable safety culture across multiple Halfords Group locations. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, monitor, and review comprehensive health & safety strategies, policies, standards, and procedures across the Halfords Group.
- Actively contribute to the successful execution of the Halfords Group Health & Safety Roadmap.
- Conduct thorough audits and workplace inspections to identify areas for enhancement in health & safety management practices and overall standards. Provide detailed reports based on your findings, including visible safety leadership (VSL) observations and monthly summaries, to support Halfords in implementing effective solutions.
- Lead investigations into all accidents, incidents, significant events, and safety concerns, meticulously identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures to minimize recurrence.
- Offer expert advice on all health & safety matters, providing guidance and support to colleagues, contractors, and visitors across Halfords Group operations.
- Collaborate with enforcement agencies in conjunction with the Senior Health & Safety Business Partner and Group Head of Health & Safety.
- Contribute to the design, development, production, and delivery of comprehensive training materials, encompassing risk assessments, safe working procedures, manual handling, traffic management, wellbeing & welfare, vehicle operations, housekeeping standards, PUWER, LOLER, and more. Ensure that all training materials meet the highest quality standards and are tailored to the specific needs of the Group.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Halfords Directors, Managers, Colleagues, Trade Unions, Partners, Contractors, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Promote best practices in health & safety throughout the Halfords Group, raising awareness and encouraging continuous improvement.
- Assist management and departmental heads in developing site improvement plans that prioritize health & safety considerations.
- Actively participate in department, corporate, individual, and group initiatives.
