About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a Senior Workplace Health and Safety Manager, you will play a key role in driving improvements in safety, quality, and productivity across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a site safety strategy, leading to its successful implementation
  • Manage the health and safety team at the Sortation Centre, ensuring the delivery of objectives
  • Engage in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites
  • Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to stakeholders
  • Review and audit health and safety management arrangements, identifying areas for improvement
  • Develop strategies to reduce health and safety risks, recommending and implementing mitigations and processes
  • Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety metrics
  • Drive behavioural culture change programmes across large, complex operations
  • Implement and review company global/EU safety policies, ensuring compliance with local HSE requirements
About the Team

Our Workplace Health and Safety team plays a critical role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. We work closely with managers, associates, and local governments across our sites to ensure compliance with Amazon's policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe.

Requirements
  • Education to a degree level and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level
  • Experience managing and leading a team
  • Proficient knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and its application
  • Understanding of UK Environment, Health and Safety legislation
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies
  • Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability
  • Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body
