Position Title: Functional Skills Educator
Reporting To: Skills Development Team Leader
Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with some travel required. Candidates must possess a valid driving license and have access to a vehicle. Expect to spend approximately 2 to 3 days weekly traveling within the designated areas, with the remainder of the time working from home.
Compensation: £29,890
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage a caseload of apprentices engaged in their Maths & English Functional Skills training. The role primarily involves supporting learners with additional educational needs. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting both individual and group training sessions, combining remote and in-person visits.
- Traveling to meet candidates across the designated regions.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of two years' experience in delivering educational content.
- Proven track record in teaching numeracy and literacy qualifications.
- Familiarity with the Work-Based Learning environment.
- Possession of a recognized teaching or training qualification at Level 3.
- Qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Adult Literacy and/or Numeracy or Functional Skills at Level 2.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze initial assessments and diagnostic evaluations to create tailored learning plans.
- Oversee a caseload of learners to ensure timely achievement of Functional Skills, preparing them for assessments within specified deadlines.
- Manage the eLearning platform for assigned modules and levels, continuously reviewing progress against the Functional Skills specifications.
- Deliver educational sessions that include e-learning modules and one-on-one training in learners' workplaces.
- Document learner support evidence on Etrack, adhering to audit standards.
- Collaborate with Regional Trainers and Training Managers to communicate progress and explore contextual learning opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to evaluating the effectiveness of delivered training.
- Participate in relevant training courses to maintain Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Fulfill all tasks and responsibilities outlined in the company's operational procedures and working instructions.
- Engage in self-development as identified in performance reviews.
- Deliver training to both groups and individuals.
- Identify and analyze skills gaps using system-generated data.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Equality, Diversity, and Welfare policies at all times.
