Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate existing relationships and build new ones with a hunter mentality, driving the company's growth strategy and investments.
  • Demonstrate exceptional understanding of the higher education marketplace and competitor offerings to drive business growth.
  • Identify profitable opportunities and develop plans to strategically engage with clients, leveraging industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Full cycle sales and pipeline building, including prospect targeting, engagement, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and post-closing participation in ongoing account management and optimization activities.
  • Significantly grow the company presence and revenues in the higher education domain, working closely with industry business unit leads to develop and execute go-to-market strategies.
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy to hit revenue targets, executing plans via targeted campaigns and other sales channels, including influencers, conference attendance, and industry events.
  • Propose, submit, and handle proposals with full ownership and accountability for opportunities, working closely with sales enablement teams to ensure high-quality proposals.
  • Contribute to and shape the company's sales and client services solutions and capabilities relevant to local market needs and competitive dynamics.
  • Interact with senior leaders at each client and within the company, leveraging exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and more than ten years of related IT consulting and solutions sales experience in the higher education sector.
  • Exceptional ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven quota track record and established, current relationships with C-Suite decision-makers in the higher education sector.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Familiarity with CRM practices and ability to build productive business and professional relationships.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization.
  • Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
  • Acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to plan and organize projects.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient on MS Office products and proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent judgment with ability to make timely and sound decisions, with creative, flexible, and innovative team player skills.
  • Experience in RFP process and ability to strategize winning propositions.
  • 3+ years of demonstrable sales in higher education and/or state or local government, 5+ years strongly preferred.
