Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, United Kingdom Cornerstone Community Care Full time

Are you seeking a fulfilling career where you can make a real difference in someone's life? Join our dedicated team at Cornerstone Community Care, where we are looking for compassionate individuals to provide essential support to a gentleman with complex needs on a full-time basis.

Position Overview

As a Care Support Specialist, you will be part of a warm and committed team, providing 2:1 support. Each day will bring new experiences, as you engage with a gentleman who has a delightful sense of humor and appreciates light-hearted moments.

Your responsibilities will encompass all facets of daily living, including assisting with appointments, meal preparation, managing finances, maintaining a clean living environment, and providing personal care such as bathing and grooming. Although the gentleman is non-verbal and has limited means of communication, you will have the guidance of a supportive team to help you build a rapport with him, ensuring a rewarding experience.

As he enjoys outings in his mobility vehicle, it is essential that you possess a full UK manual driving license with at least one year of driving experience.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals who have experience and confidence in delivering care and support, particularly for those with complex needs. While experience is preferred, we provide comprehensive induction training and shadowing to equip you for success in your new role. Additionally, we will support your professional development by funding your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and covering your annual SSSC registration fees.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills
  • A compassionate and caring demeanor
  • A proactive attitude towards learning
  • An understanding of the significance of adhering to guidelines and routines
  • Proficiency in using computers

Work Schedule

Our tailored care services operate 24/7, which means your shifts will include a variety of hours, including waking nights. Weekend shifts will also be part of your schedule on a rotational basis. We value your work-life balance, and you will receive your rota at least four weeks in advance.

We encourage you to consider this opportunity to join our team, where your contributions will be valued and impactful.

At Cornerstone Community Care, we welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to enhancing the diversity of our workforce.
