Position Overview
As a Support Practitioner, you will be part of a compassionate and skilled team providing assistance to a remarkable individual on a 2:1 basis. Each day will bring new experiences, as you engage with a gentleman who has a great sense of humor and enjoys light-hearted interactions.
Your responsibilities will encompass all facets of daily living, including attending appointments, preparing meals, managing finances, maintaining a clean environment, and assisting with personal care needs. Although the gentleman communicates non-verbally, you will have the support of a committed team to help you build a meaningful connection over time.
Additionally, as the gentleman enjoys outings in his mobility vehicle, a full UK manual driving license with at least one year of driving experience is essential.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for individuals who possess experience and confidence in providing care and support, particularly for those with complex needs. While experience is preferred, comprehensive training and shadowing will be provided to ensure you feel equipped in your new role. We also offer funding for your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and cover your annual SSSC registration fees.
To excel as a Support Practitioner, you should have:
- Strong communication abilities
- A nurturing and empathetic demeanor
- A proactive attitude towards learning
- An appreciation for the importance of following established guidelines and routines
- Competence in using computer systems
Work Schedule
Our tailored care services operate 24/7, which means your shifts will include a mix of hours, including waking nights. Weekend work will also be part of your rotation. We value your work/life balance, and you will receive your schedule at least four weeks in advance.
