Credit Controller

At Fresh Direct, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Controller to join our Finance team in Wigan. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business by managing our credit risk and debt recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver an exceptional service to our customers by ensuring timely and accurate credit management.
- Collaborate with our sales and divisional finance colleagues to maintain a balance between customer relationships and credit risk management.
- Work closely with the Credit Manager to achieve targets and drive business growth.
- Manage overdue debt to maximize cash flow and minimize bad debt.
- Review and improve processes within the Department to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt.
- Collaborate with other internal functions to highlight process issues and deliver improvements.
- Visit customers to overcome issues causing bad debt risks.
- Utilize external credit rating agency tools to minimize bad debt risk.
- Maintain customer accounts within agreed terms and credit limits.
- Manage the debt recovery process for the business.
- Manage housekeeping processes to minimize open items on the ledger.
- Provide regular management reports and ad-hoc information.
We are looking for a candidate with credit control experience in a fast-paced environment. You will have intermediate Excel skills and be able to take ownership of your performance and identify areas for improvement and development. Ideally, you will be a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (ACICM) or working towards this.
