Fresh Direct is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join our Finance team in Wigan. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business by ensuring timely payments and minimizing bad debt risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with our sales and divisional finance colleagues.
  • Work closely with the Credit Manager to achieve targets and ensure effective credit risk management.
  • Manage overdue debt and maximize cash flow in line with targets for your own debtors ledger.
  • Collaborate with internal functions to identify process improvements and deliver solutions.
  • Visit customers to resolve issues and minimize bad debt risks.
  • Utilize external credit rating agency tools to minimize bad debt risk.
  • Maintain customer accounts within agreed terms and credit limits.
  • Manage the debt recovery process and minimize open items on the ledger.
  • Provide regular management reports and ad-hoc information.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with credit control experience in a fast-paced environment. You will have intermediate Excel skills and be able to take ownership of your performance and identify areas for improvement. A qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (ACICM) or working towards this is desirable.
