Key Responsibilities
  • Data Consulting
    • Engage with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and data needs.
    • Provide strategic advice on data management, analytics, and business intelligence to drive informed decision-making.
    • Conduct data assessments and identify opportunities to enhance data utilisation, governance, and analytics capabilities.
    • Lead workshops and training sessions to elevate clients' data literacy and enable self-service analytics.
  • Power BI Expertise
    • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models tailored to client needs.
    • Create visually compelling and actionable data visualisations that empower clients to make data-driven decisions.
    • Implement best practices in Power BI, including DAX, data modelling, and report performance optimisation.
    • Support SD staff in using Power BI effectively, enabling them to derive maximum value from data.
  • Data Engineering
    • Utilise SQL Server and Azure Synapse to manage data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
    • Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility across all client-facing analytics solutions.
    • Collaborate with data engineering teams to design and optimise the data architecture that support robust BI solutions.
    • Leverage Azure Data Fabric (nice to have) for advanced data integration and orchestration when applicable.
  • Client Collaboration
    • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
    • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
    • Continuously seek feedback from clients to improve service delivery and client satisfaction.
    Requirements
    • Consulting Skills
      • Proven experience in a data consulting role, with a strong ability to assess client needs and deliver tailored solutions.
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex data concepts to a broad audience.
      • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing client challenges.
    • Technical Skills
      • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
      • Strong SQL skills, with extensive experience in SQL Server and data warehousing.
      • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and cloud-based data solutions.
      • Understanding of ETL processes and data integration best practices.
    • Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
      • Experience with Azure Data Fabric.
      • Knowledge of other Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Copilot, ChatGPT and Azure Machine Learning).
      • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and architecture.
