About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Transport Assistant/Driver to join our team at EMED Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in transporting SEND school children to their place of education, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport SEND school children to their place of education, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
  • Build rapport with service users and their relatives/friends, providing effective communication and support.
  • Responsible for lifting, securing, and helping service users in and out of the service vehicles, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Assist with the handing over of service users to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment schools, centers/hospitals, or to family/friends at their homes.
  • Assist service users with challenging behavior and/or mental health illnesses, providing a calm and considerate approach.
  • Ensure the vehicles are kept safe, clean, and tidy, adhering to strict maintenance and hygiene protocols.
Requirements
  • Full FREC 3 Training (Certificate in First Response Emergency Care)
  • Committed to Community Care
  • Effective communicator and experience of communicating with others in emotional circumstances
  • Calm, considerate, and careful driver, with no more than three penalty points on your license
  • Natural flair for team working and collaboration
  • Physically fit for patient handling, wheelchair on/off boarding
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded)
  • Able to hold a PHV taxi license
  • Able to work flexible shifts
  • Familiar with the local and surrounding area
