About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEND Transport Assistant to join our team at EMED Group. As a key member of our Patient Transport and Care Partner team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of SEND children to and from school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport SEND children to and from school, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Build strong relationships with service users, their families, and colleagues to ensure seamless communication and care.
  • Assist with the handling and securing of service users in and out of vehicles, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our transportation services, including the transportation of elderly, sick, and vulnerable service users.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge in patient care and transportation.
Requirements
  • FREC 3 Training (Certificate in First Response Emergency Care) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • A calm and considerate driving style, with a valid UK driving license and a good driving record.
  • Physical fitness for patient handling and wheelchair on/off boarding.
  • Enhanced DBS check and ability to hold a PHV taxi license.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
