Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Passenger Assistant to join our team at EMED Group. As a key member of our community transport team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist children with special educational needs during transport, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Drive safely and considerately, adhering to all relevant protocols and regulations.
  • Support children in boarding and alighting from the vehicle, providing physical assistance as needed.
  • Maintain a calm and positive environment during transport, addressing any behavioral or emotional needs that may arise.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding transportation arrangements.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including the use of seat belts and appropriate seating arrangements.
  • Familiarize yourself with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Report any incidents or concerns promptly to your line manager or operations manager.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle.
Working Hours
  • Part-time only, up to 20 hours per week available.
  • Example shifts: 07:45-09:45 and 15:15-17:15.
  • Monday to Friday, term time only.
  • AM and/or PM shifts available.
  • No weekend work.
  • Flexitime.

Requirements
  • Deliver excellent customer service.
