SEND Passenger Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEND Passenger Assistant to join our Healthcare transportation team in Surrey. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs during transport, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting children with special educational needs during transport, providing a safe and supportive environment.
- Driving carefully and considerately to safely transport children to and from their place of education.
- Supporting children in boarding and alighting from the vehicle, providing any necessary physical assistance.
- Maintaining a calm and positive environment during transport, addressing any behavioural or emotional needs that may arise.
- Communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding transportation arrangements.
- Ensuring all safety protocols are followed, including the use of seat belts and appropriate seating arrangements.
- Familiar with safeguarding policies.
- Reporting any incidents or concerns promptly to your line Manager/Operations Manager.
- Assisting in maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full UK driving licence with no more than three penalty points.
- To pass a DVLA D4 Medical.
- To obtain and hold a PHV Licence.
- To deliver excellent customer service.
- To display a calm, considerate and careful driver behaviour.
- To be an effective and confident communicator.
- To naturally demonstrate team collaboration.
- An Enhanced DBS check is required for all successful candidates, which is fully funded by EMED Group.
