Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Kinaxia Logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing collection and delivery schedules to ensure efficient fleet deployment and meet customer service levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Planning: Make full use of all IT systems, TMS, and customer portals to ensure efficient fleet and employee deployment.
  • Fleet Utilization: Fully utilize all vehicles to ensure accurate and appropriate allocation of drivers/vehicles/trailers/customer deliveries and backloads.
  • Collaboration with Workshop: Work closely with the Workshop to ensure vehicles and trailers are available to support the transport requirement, service scheduling is built into the plan, and advise the operation in a timely manner when there are any risks to vehicle or trailer availability.
  • Communication and Planning: Communicate and share plans to the transport team to deliver through efficiency and maintain customer service levels.
  • Staffing Management: Manage staffing levels, including agency staff, to ensure sufficient staffing levels are always in place to meet and exceed the daily plan and to meet customer requirements.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with all customers and work with them to understand and resource their schedules. Also, to include but not limited to; effective handovers to the relevant individuals/departments, and key stakeholders for any operational delays to ensure a smooth and efficient service is being delivered.
  • Operational Planning: Control and plan operational deliveries for the following day and provide rates, quotes, and process all customer bookings to meet customers' needs and expectations.
  • Teamwork and Cross-Training: Work as part of a team and participate in cross-training initiatives to provide effective cover in a colleague's absence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, communicate, and drive any continuous improvements to continually develop the operation of the business.
  • Health and Safety: Operate to a high standard of general housekeeping and work safely, complying with all health and safety regulations to maintain a clean, safe, and tidy working environment.
Requirements
  • Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of the Highway Code, EU tachograph requirements, Working Time Regulations, Road Transport Regulations.
  • Transport Operation Systems: Working knowledge of transport operation systems.
  • Geographical Knowledge: Geographical knowledge.
  • Health and Safety Regulations: Health and safety regulations.
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant transport and planning experience.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyzing and solving logistic problems.
  • Transport Operation Systems: Transport operation systems.
