Commercial Graduate Position

Hales Group is seeking a Commercial Graduate to support their client located on the outskirts of Thetford.

Role Overview:
As a Commercial Graduate, you will acquire extensive experience within the commercial sector, equipping you with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective commercial assistance to our varied business operations. You will collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor, engaging in a diverse array of commercial tasks.

Payment Processing Responsibilities:
You will oversee the payment processing duties, ensuring precise daily input and maintaining robust monthly cash flow:
  • Entering billing information into client systems
  • Following up on payment approvals post-processing
  • Coordinating with the finance team to ensure accurate invoice generation
  • Reconciling monthly remittances
  • Ensuring accurate data entry.
Management of Sub-Contractor Payments:
You will be responsible for managing sub-contractor payments and processing within internal systems:
  • Collecting applications from sub-contractors
  • Reconciling these applications with internal records
  • Ensuring timely issuance of payment certificates to finance for processing.
System Reconciliation Duties:
You will ensure that internal job systems are consistently updated and accurate:
  • Verifying correct revenue capture within the system
  • Monitoring data accuracy
  • Reconciling the system after month-end activities.
Additional Support Tasks:
You will serve as a resource for the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor for various day-to-day tasks:
  • Generating monthly and weekly reports
  • Assisting with data analysis
  • Maintaining databases
  • Supporting operations and finance with purchase orders.
Qualifications and Professional Memberships:
  • 2:1 bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Full UK driving license
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Prior experience in an administrative, financial, or commercial role is advantageous but not mandatory.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
