Hales Group is seeking a Commercial Graduate to join a dynamic team on the outskirts of Thetford.

Role Overview:
As a Commercial Graduate, you will acquire a diverse range of experiences within the commercial sector, equipping you with the necessary skills and insights to deliver effective commercial assistance to our varied operations. You will support the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor with daily administrative tasks, engaging in a variety of commercial functions.

Payment Management:
You will oversee the payment processing system, ensuring precise daily entries and maintaining a robust monthly cash flow:
  • Inputting billing data into client systems
  • Following up on payment approvals
  • Coordinating with the finance team for accurate invoice generation
  • Reconciling monthly remittances
  • Ensuring accurate data entry.
Sub-Contractor Payment Oversight:
You will be responsible for managing sub-contractor payments and processing within internal systems:
  • Collecting applications from sub-contractors
  • Reconciling applications with internal records
  • Ensuring timely issuance of payment certificates to finance for processing
System Reconciliation:
You will maintain the accuracy of internal job systems on a daily and monthly basis:
  • Ensuring correct revenue capture within the system
  • Monitoring data accuracy
  • Reconciling systems post month-end activities
Additional Responsibilities:
You will serve as a point of contact for the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor for various day-to-day tasks:
  • Generating monthly and weekly reports
  • Assisting with data analysis
  • Maintaining databases
  • Supporting operations and finance with purchase orders
Qualifications & Professional Memberships:
  • 2:1 bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Previous experience in an administrative, financial, or commercial role is advantageous but not mandatory
Skills & Personal Attributes:
  • Willingness to travel within the UK
  • Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and numerical reasoning abilities
