Commercial Graduate Position

Hales Group is seeking a Commercial Graduate to support our client located on the outskirts of Thetford.

Role Overview:
As a Commercial Graduate, you will acquire extensive experience within the commercial sector, allowing you to enhance your commercial insight, expertise, and knowledge necessary for providing effective commercial assistance to our varied business operations. You will collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor, engaging in a diverse array of commercial tasks.

Payment Management: You will be responsible for overseeing the payment process, ensuring precise daily entries and maintaining robust monthly cash flow:
  • Inputting billing data into client systems
  • Following up on payment approvals
  • Coordinating with the finance team to ensure accurate invoice generation
  • Reconciling monthly remittances
  • Ensuring correct data entry.
Sub-Contractor Payment Oversight: You will manage the processing of sub-contractor payments within internal systems:
  • Collecting applications from sub-contractors
  • Reconciling these applications with internal records
  • Ensuring timely issuance of payment certificates to finance for processing.
System Reconciliation: You will ensure that internal job systems are consistently updated and accurate:
  • Verifying that revenue is accurately captured within the system
  • Monitoring data accuracy
  • Reconciling systems following month-end activities.
Additional Responsibilities: You will serve as a resource for the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor, assisting with various daily tasks:
  • Generating monthly and weekly reports
  • Supporting analytical tasks
  • Maintaining databases
  • Assisting operations and finance with purchase orders.
Qualifications & Professional Memberships:
  • 2:1 bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Full UK driving license
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Prior experience in an administrative, financial, or commercial role is advantageous but not mandatory.
Skills & Personal Attributes:
