Job Title: Cleaning Operative - Commercial

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Operative to join our Commercial team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within our commercial premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and remain approachable throughout, while carrying out duties on shift
  • Highly motivated with an eye for detail and able to use initiative to identify and resolve cleaning-related issues
  • Solutions-oriented, providing explanations and proposed resolutions to problems rather than purely identifying problems
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve cleaning and maintenance objectives
  • Clean and present the commercial premises, including floors, walls, and surfaces, to a high standard
  • Clean and maintain management, security offices, kitchen areas, and toilets
  • Clean loading bays and ramps
  • Sweep and litter pick all areas, including car parks and service yards
  • Weeding from all visible areas on site
  • Clean stairways accessible to the commercial premises and car park
  • Vacuum commercial premises carpets
  • Clean commercial premises corridors, walls, and doors
  • Clean all windows, inside and out
  • Sweep smoking areas and dispose of cigarette butts
  • Removal of small internal/external graffiti letters/drawings as and when required
  • Undertake cleaning of biological hazards
  • Complete paperwork as required, detailing and signing for all work carried out, making note of all spillages and obstructions accurately and clearly
  • Dispose of collected wet waste in accordance with local instructions with the compactor/container bins provided
  • To hand in lost property to the Security Control and log all lost items
  • To ensure corridors, entrances, and exits are always free of obstructions
  • To attend any training sessions as required
  • To comply with any reasonable instructions issued by management

Personnel Specification:

  • Excellent timekeeping and shift attendance essential
  • Have a good command of English, speaking and writing
  • Must have valid right to work documentation
  • The ability to remain calm in a pressurized environment
  • Excellent customer service and conflict management skills
  • Well-organized, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team

  • Must be available to work across 7 days, late evenings, and early mornings
