How You Can Contribute

As a Lead Field Engineer at Boskalis Subsea Services, you will play a pivotal role in delivering technical expertise to the BSS Mobilisation Manager, BSS Field Engineers, BSS Operations Department, and BSS Projects. Your focus will be on the meticulous planning, preparation, and safe execution of all mobilisations and projects.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Onshore Duties:

  • Oversee, mentor, and coach all Field Engineers to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the Field Engineer team to support ongoing improvements and initiatives.
  • Act as the primary technical support contact for Field Engineers.
  • Champion and implement positive changes across the fleet to ensure alignment of vessel services and equipment.
  • Identify and promote training needs within the team.
  • Guide the maintenance of vessel service drawings, vessel description documents, and all related Field Engineer documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to the correct Way of Working and NINA processes during the planning of mobilisation activities by project, operations, and/or asset teams.
  • Provide engineering assistance to the operations department as needed, including planning for repair and maintenance and dry dock workscopes.
  • Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by Line Management within the specified timeframe.

Mobilisation Responsibilities:

  • Lead mobilisations and demobilisations, ensuring activities are conducted safely and efficiently according to approved deck plans or as modified through the Management of Change process.
  • Prepare, plan, and supervise vessel activations and deactivations at the start and end of the operational season.
  • Participate in and support vessel mobilisation activities.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of less experienced engineers, ensuring high-quality engineering standards at the assigned worksite.

Project Engineering Role:

During the offshore phase of projects, the Lead Field Engineer will assume the responsibilities of a Senior Project Engineer.

What We Offer

  • An engineering qualification (HNC or higher) or equivalent practical experience in all aspects of the Field Engineer role.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer or Project Engineer.
  • At least 3 years of offshore experience in a supervisory or senior role.
  • Relevant certifications including Opito BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS, MIST, and OGUK Medical.
  • Proficient command of English, both written and spoken.

  • Your team: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project, and Offshore teams, as well as various departments across the organization.
  • Work Location: This position is based in our office with occasional offshore trips as required. We support a hybrid working policy.
  • Job Type: The role of Lead Field Engineer is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours per week.
