Position Overview

As a Lead Field Engineer for Boskalis Subsea Services, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance to the BSS Mobilisation Manager, BSS Field Engineers, BSS Operations Department, and BSS Projects during the planning, preparation, and safe execution of all mobilisations and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Onshore:
  • Oversee, mentor, and coach all Field Engineers.
  • Facilitate communication within the Field Engineer team to ensure support for improvements and initiatives.
  • Act as the primary contact for Field Engineers, offering technical assistance.
  • Encourage and implement positive changes across the fleet to align vessel services and equipment.
  • Identify and promote training needs within the group.
  • Guide the maintenance of vessel service drawings, vessel description documents, and all other Field Engineer documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to the correct Way of Working and NINA processes during the planning of mobilisation activities.
  • Provide engineering support to the operations department as needed, including planning for repairs and maintenance and dry dock workscopes.
  • Fulfill any other responsibilities delegated by Line Management within the specified timeframe.
Mobilisation:
  • Lead mobilisations and demobilisations to ensure activities are conducted safely and efficiently according to approved deck plans.
  • Prepare, plan, and supervise vessel activations and deactivations at the beginning and end of the season.
  • Participate in and support vessel mobilisation activities.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of less experienced engineers, ensuring high-quality engineering standards at the assigned worksite.
Project Engineer Activities:

The Lead Field Engineer will also perform the role of Senior Project Engineer during the offshore phase of projects.

Qualifications:

You will excel as a Lead Field Engineer if you possess:
  • An engineering qualification (HNC or above) or relevant knowledge gained through practical experience in all aspects of the Field Engineer role.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Field Engineer or Project Engineer.
  • At least 3 years of offshore experience in a supervisory or senior role.
  • Opito BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS, MIST, and OGUK Medical certifications.
  • Proficient command of English, both written and spoken.
