Job Title: Senior Subsea Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Subsea Engineer to join our team at Talent Specialist Limited. As a Senior Subsea Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering and consultancy services to our clients in the Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, and Low Carbon sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to projects across all three of our clients Engineering and Consultancy Services markets, with key responsibilities including concept development and feasibility studies for challenging marginal, HPHT, and deep-water subsea developments in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Design and analysis of CO2 and H2 onshore and offshore pipelines in the Low Carbon sector.
  • Supporting junior engineers or executing independently typical tasks in FEED studies such as pipeline mechanical design, pipeline routing, stress analysis, producing datasheets and specifications, supporting CAD drawings etc.
  • Subsea cable routing, mechanical design, analysis and assessment in the Offshore Wind and Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Building and maintaining client relationships and contributing to successful proposals and tenders.
  • Other responsibilities may include leading integrity management, life extension, and decommissioning studies.
  • Using analytical or non-linear FE methods to solve diverse and complex subsea pipeline and subsea cable problems.
  • Developing onshore pipeline routing criteria and routing maps, allowing for environmental, safety, land rights and legal considerations.
  • Participation in innovation projects to continually streamline our toolkits for delivering our assessments.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Naval Architecture or similar engineering discipline.
  • Chartered status.
  • Experience of providing Engineering and Consultancy Services in one of more of the following markets: Oil and Gas, Offshore Wind, and Low Carbon.
Technical Competencies:
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of subsea and pipeline engineering, and of regulatory frameworks, codes, and standards. Understanding of global buckling, limit states, and HPHT issues is considered advantageous.
  • Experience of concept / feasibility design studies for subsea developments; experience of FEED.
  • Experience of integrity management of subsea pipelines is considered advantageous.
  • Experience of pipeline analysis to support design and operations; in-depth knowledge of finite element methods is considered advantageous.
  • Experience in the design and analysis of subsea cables is considered advantageous.
  • Experience in the design and assessment of CO2 and H2 onshore and offshore pipelines is considered advantageous.
  • Proven success in delivering studies and preparing clear, concise reports against time, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Enthusiasm to challenge existing practices, improve technical methodologies and analysis techniques.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, and mature approach to work.
