About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Engineering graduate to join our Process Automation Service Team as a Field Service Engineer - Automation Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and delivering our Portfolio of Services across our entire Installed Base of process automation and safety equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of ABB's Industrial Automation systems and services, including cyber and digital portfolio.
  2. Collaborate with our UK and European team of specialist engineers and stakeholders to support and deliver lifecycle services for the operation and maintenance of ABB's Control System products.
  3. Conduct onshore and offshore site visits to perform Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance activities.
  4. Assist with the design, engineering, integration, verification, and validation testing of solutions using in-house reference systems.
  5. Participate in all aspects of the ABB UK Graduate development program.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Energy Transition and Sustainability.

Requirements

  1. A degree in Automation, Electrical & Electronic, Computer / Data Science, or similar STEM foundations.
  2. A willingness to learn and ability to innovate.
  3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. A self-starter with the ability to work on his or her own initiative, plan well, and follow through to task completion.
  5. Flexibility and willingness to travel to customer sites.
  6. Ability to manage customer expectations and deliver high-quality solutions to all ABB customers.
  7. Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, Industrial Networks, and Cyber Security.
  8. Basic software programming background.
