Job Overview

We are seeking a Technical Lead to become a pivotal member of our Software Delivery division. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to mentor a team of engineers while actively contributing to the team's deliverables. This role demands a Technical Authority who can influence strategic decisions both within the team and across various teams, ensuring that we deliver high-quality and valuable software to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with fellow Technical Leaders to formulate long-term strategies aimed at enhancing product quality, security, performance, observability, and maintainability across Group Technology development teams, ensuring optimal outcomes for our clients.
  • Serve as a Technical Authority within and across teams to efficiently resolve complex coding and engineering challenges, yielding long-term benefits for the organization and our clients.
  • Develop software that is easily adaptable for future iterations, enabling the Company to introduce high-quality features to the market promptly. Ensure that the solutions are purpose-fit, deliver business value, adhere to quality standards, and conform to established engineering practices.
  • Coordinate and oversee technical tasks across multiple development teams to minimize redundancy, enhance collaboration, and provide clear visibility on progress, facilitating smooth delivery of cross-functional initiatives.
  • Conduct ongoing research on relevant technologies, identifying and implementing opportunities for integration as appropriate. Utilize your technological knowledge and analyze the external market landscape for insights, direction, and vendor information to keep our applications current, relevant, and efficient.
  • Analyze alternative technology solutions, assessing associated benefits, costs, and risks; perform gap analysis, and develop proof of concepts for new solutions.
  • Guide and collaborate with the 'Developer Community' to establish software development standards that our teams can utilize to produce software meeting security, compliance, and audit requirements without hindering our development processes.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of software testing frameworks and strategies is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CI/CD and related release strategies is crucial.
  • Extensive experience with Agile software development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, is required.
  • Familiarity with Microservices patterns and frameworks is beneficial.
  • Technical expertise in the following areas is necessary:
    • Application Server: Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), Open Liberty
    • Transactional Database: Azure SQL Database
    • Core Programming Languages: Java 17, Python (preferred)
    • UI Technologies: Angular / CSS / Bootstrap / JSP / Servlets / JavaScript / jQuery
    • Frameworks: Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud
    • Integration Platforms: Azure API Management
    • Integration Protocols: HTTPS, SOAP, RESTful, IBM MQ, JDBC, CICS Transaction Gateway
    • Identity & Access Management: Tivoli Directory Server / LTPA / OAuth2 / ForgeRock
    • Batch Scheduler / Compute: Azure Functions
    • Source Code Management: Azure DevOps
    • Build / Deploy Scripts: Maven, Jython
    • CI / CD: Azure Pipelines
    • IDE: Eclipse
