Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:

Objective:

  • Deliver comprehensive maintenance services across all facilities and equipment.
  • Execute maintenance and repair tasks in line with established protocols.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of installations.
  • Ensure optimal performance and dependability of systems and machinery.
  • Address urgent maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs.
  • Act as the Qualified Person (Electrical).
  • Enhance understanding of system malfunctions and their origins.
  • Carry out monitoring assessments and new setup tasks.
  • Support in keeping the facility and equipment areas tidy.
  • Perform defect assessments and compile reports.
  • Expand knowledge of on-site generation systems.
  • Provide assistance during colleague shifts.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as needed.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in the application of operational policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit capabilities to fulfill contract obligations.
  • Maintain required training and competency standards.
  • Provide consistent updates on workload to the Line Manager.
  • Identify opportunities for operational enhancements.
  • Help in generating reports.
  • Ensure satisfaction of service users.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Continuously assess safety performance.
  • Ensure team participation in safety briefings.
  • Oversee the preparation of Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment is utilized.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in achieving financial targets.
  • Ensure adherence to the procurement process.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possess relevant certifications and qualifications.
  • Trained in building service disciplines.
  • Effective communicator, numerate, and proficient in IT.
  • Commercially aware and knowledgeable.
  • Strong understanding of Facility Management principles.
  • Familiar with health & safety regulations.
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making and communication abilities.
