About the Position

We are in search of a Software Quality Assurance Engineer who can develop and implement test cases for hardware and software in the context of satellite and payload evaluations (Software Defined Radio). The engineer will collaborate closely with the Hardware Verification and Validation team and engage with the Test Development team to ensure effective communication and information sharing with stakeholders proficient in both hardware and software disciplines.

Work Arrangement

This role requires an initial training period at a designated location, followed by actual test execution at a different site. The working environment will be hybrid, allowing for a mix of office, client site, and remote work, ensuring flexibility while maintaining business needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Comprehension of space systems and satellite communication principles, protocols, and technologies, along with satellite operations and payload engineering.
  • Strong grasp of Software Defined Radio concepts applicable to payload systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of embedded software validation techniques for SoC/FPGA based architectures.
  • Expertise in testing and validating real-time or safety-critical systems related to payload.
  • Familiarity with CCSDS or ECSS standards for Telecommand and Telemetry.
  • Experience in developing and executing test cases for payload software validation (preferably in satellite communications).
  • Solid understanding of interdisciplinary validation and troubleshooting of complex systems that integrate hardware, software, and algorithms.
  • Experience in validating software algorithms and operational systems against user-defined specifications.
  • Proficiency in automated systems validation and regression testing.
  • Ability to create test cases and utilize protocol simulators (intermediate knowledge of Java programming is essential).
  • Good understanding of real-time operating systems (such as free-RtOS or embedded Linux with real-time extensions), systems programming, concurrency, and scheduling. Familiarity with QEMU is advantageous.
  • Experience with open-source development tools (Eclipse / Github / openjdk).
