Position Overview

Role: Quality Engineer

Location: Any major hub within the United Kingdom

Key Responsibilities
  • Join our Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) team and gain exposure to our diverse product and service offerings throughout the entire product lifecycle while engaging directly with clients.
  • Oversee our risk-based supplier evaluation program, which entails managing assessments—both in-person and remote—and ensuring follow-up on findings to maintain high standards of products and services.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers, guiding them to align their systems, processes, products, and services with our requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in our supplier assessment program, defective equipment investigation processes, and other quality-related procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement team to develop and maintain a system for monitoring and communicating the performance of our quality-critical suppliers.
  • Work alongside colleagues across various business areas and represent the UK & Ireland division in global Linde initiatives.
Qualifications
  • A degree or qualification in a technical field such as chemical or mechanical engineering, or approximately four years of relevant experience in operational, engineering, or quality roles.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, including senior management and external partners.
  • Understanding of business and health & safety risk exposures, as well as the implications of non-conformities identified during audits.
  • Desire to acquire knowledge of applicable legislation and standards related to our products, services, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements or possession of a lead auditor qualification, or membership in the Chartered Quality Institute is advantageous, though a willingness to learn is equally valued.
  • Exhibit integrity and model behaviors that promote a safe and inclusive workplace.
  • Proficient IT skills, with knowledge of quality management systems being a plus.
