Your Responsibilities

As the Energy Asset Project Commercial Lead, you will:

  • Oversee all commercial elements of energy asset projects.
  • Be responsible for managing contractual relationships and administration with major contractors.
  • Engage in negotiations with suppliers and contractors to achieve project goals.
  • Understand and navigate the claims management process, seeking specialized support when necessary.
  • Collaborate in a multinational environment across various organizational levels.
  • Support the Project Management Office and assist with project control and risk management activities.
  • Make significant financial commitments under pressure and within tight timelines.
  • Defend financial positions effectively to stakeholders, regardless of the outcome.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous situations requiring careful judgment.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, adapting to project demands and locations.
  • Authorize budgets to ensure successful project delivery while adhering to financial policies.
  • Implement change control mechanisms to maintain compliance with financial regulations.
  • Conduct cost calculations, forecasting, and reporting for asset projects, utilizing resources across the organization.

Your Profile

Essential Qualifications:

  • Academic background in a technical field and/or an MBA, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in a commercial role supporting complex technical projects.
  • Proven track record in managing competitive procurement processes for energy asset services.
  • Expertise in contractor negotiation and management.
  • Established relationships with technical, financial, procurement, and legal teams.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
  • Experience in commercial project risk management.
  • Deep understanding of complex technical, economic, and contractual relationships in asset projects.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to persuade and assert effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning across projects.
  • Ability to embrace diversity and leverage cultural differences for enhanced outcomes.
  • Fluency in English.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Project management certification.
  • Knowledge of various energy technologies, including renewables and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with international energy projects.
  • Proficiency in a second language.
