Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all commercial aspects of Energy Asset Projects, ensuring seamless execution and effective management of contractual relationships with major contractors.

  • Collaborate with the Project Management Office and support the Project Controller and Risk Manager activities, or manage those responsibilities as needed.
  • Make contractually binding commitments of significant financial sums, often on short time-scales and under pressurized circumstances, ensuring financial stability and integrity.
  • Be resilient and able to defend financial positions, whether positive or negative, to all relevant stakeholders, maintaining a strong reputation for Uniper.
  • Operate in ambiguous situations, making fine judgments with possible longer-term and legal implications, ensuring compliance and adherence to Uniper's financial policy.
  • Manage the commercial aspects of several projects simultaneously, working from a mix of locations in accordance with project demands, ensuring flexibility and adaptability.
  • Take budgetary responsibility for authorizing sufficient funds to deliver Asset Projects and ensuring construction projects are kept within authorized thresholds, maintaining financial discipline.
  • Be responsible for managing appropriate change control mechanisms to ensure all expenditure remains compliant with Uniper's financial policy, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Take responsibility for cost calculation, forecasting, and cost reporting on Asset Projects, drawing on relevant resources from across the business for support, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Requirements
  • Academic qualification in a technical subject and/or an MBA and/or demonstrable qualification by experience, ensuring a strong foundation in business and technical principles.
  • Significant experience in the commercial environment supporting complex technical works and projects, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experienced in running competitive procurement processes for Energy Asset products and services, with expertise in contract negotiation and management.
  • Contractor negotiation and management expertise, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships with technical, financial, procurement, and legal colleagues.
  • Demonstrable track record of credible relationships developed with technical, financial, procurement, and legal colleagues, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Experience and understanding of project management skills, processes, and activities, with a strong ability to apply project management principles to complex projects.
  • Practical commercial project risk management, with a strong ability to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring project success.
  • Profound understanding of complex technical, economic, and contractual relations on Asset Projects, including contracting types, ensuring a deep understanding of project complexities.
  • Application of learning for continuous improvement, both within and between projects, ensuring a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Diversity Management: embraces challenge and opportunities to enhance outcomes by evaluating situations from different perspectives, leveraging cultural differences, ensuring a diverse and inclusive work environment.
