Cardiac Specialist Nurse

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join our Nurse Heart Rhythm Service at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The post is 21 hours at band 6 or band 7 depending on level of experience.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in cardiology nursing and a keen interest in heart rhythm management. They will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills in dealing with patients and relatives with complex cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist knowledge and information on advanced cardiac devices, including Permanent Pacemaker (PPM), Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), Cardiac Re-synchronisation Therapy – Pacemaker (CRT-P) and Cardiac Re-synchronisation Therapy – Defibrillator (CRT-D).
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiac rhythm abnormalities, including liaison with consultants, registrars, GP's, Cardiac Physiologists, Nurse Practitioners, Heart Failure team, Cardiac Rehabilitation team, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, cardiology departments, Coronary Care Unit/ward staff and secretarial/support staff.
- Develop and demonstrate advanced skills in planning, organising and delivering elective cardioversion (DCCV) lists, triaging patient symptoms, delivering DCCV service in a timely and effective manner.
- Develop and demonstrate advanced skills in planning, organising and performing Ajmaline Challenge tests.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in organising and planning teaching sessions on all aspects of CRM.
