About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Nurse Specialist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our cardiac division, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including coronary angiograms, coronary angioplasty, and pacemaker implantation.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and discharge.
  • Develop and implement education programs for staff and patients to promote best practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of our nursing practice through participation in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects.
  • Supervise and support junior staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Relevant cardiology experience and a degree or diploma in nursing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of teaching and assessing skills, with a teaching qualification desirable.
  • Awareness of clinical audit and IQP processes.
