About the Role

The NHS Staffordshire & Stoke On Trent Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior Transformation Lead - Palliative Care and End of Life. This is a senior role that requires strong leadership and strategic thinking to drive transformation in palliative care and end of life services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Integrated Care Board, working in collaboration with partners across the system to ensure accessible, high-quality, safe palliative and end of life care is available for adults, children, and young people.
  • Lead, coordinate, and project manage the implementation of strategies and policies to improve palliative care and end of life services.
  • Undertake partnership working with statutory and non-statutory partners to redesign, modernize, and improve services.
  • Coproduce plans with people with lived experience and partners to improve outcomes and experience for patients and their carers.
  • Communicate effectively with partners at all levels of the system, both internally and externally.
  • Oversee and deliver the Palliative Care and End of Life transformation plans for the system, reporting to the programme board on a regular basis to inform on progress and management of risk.

  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to summarise information and key issues.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages.
  • Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organisation.
  • Ability to use initiative to decide relevant actions and make recommendations to the Sponsor/Manager.
  • Effective organiser and personal qualities reflecting the ICB values.
  • Willingness to engage with and learn from peers, other professionals, and colleagues.
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post.
Education and Qualifications
  • Educated to Masters level or have equivalent experience working at a senior level in service transformation/commissioning.
  • Evidence of post-qualification and continuing professional development.
