About the Role

The NHS Staffordshire & Stoke On Trent Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transformation Lead for Palliative Care and End of Life Services to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of palliative care and end of life services in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Integrated Care System (ICS) to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe palliative and end of life care.
  • Lead, coordinate, and project manage the implementation of strategies and policies to improve palliative care and end of life services.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with statutory and non-statutory partners to enhance palliative care and end of life services.
  • Work across the whole economy to redesign, modernize, and improve services.
  • Coproduce plans with people with lived experience and partners to improve outcomes and experience for patients and their carers.
  • Communicate effectively with partners at all levels of the system.
  • Oversee and deliver the Palliative Care and End of Life transformation plans for the system and report on progress to the programme board.

Requirements
  • Experience of working across agency and organisational boundaries.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to negotiate on difficult and controversial issues.
  • Ability to critically appraise research evidence and interpret its relevance.
  • Ability to apply expert analytical skills to complex issues.
  • Subject matter expertise in palliative care and end of life services.
  • Positive and effective communicator with good presentational skills.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to summarise information and key issues.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages.

Experience
  • Experience of planning and organising complex activities, programmes, projects, and services.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge in palliative care and end of life services.
  • Ability to plan over short, medium, and long-term time frames.
  • Experience of identifying, interpreting, and implementing local and national policy.
  • Experience of working across agency and organisational boundaries.
Education and Qualification
  • Educated to Masters level or have equivalent experience working at a senior level in service transformation and commissioning.
  • Evidence of post-qualification and continuing professional development.
