About the Role

The NHS Staffordshire & Stoke On Trent Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transformation Lead for Palliative Care and End of Life Services to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare in our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe palliative and end-of-life care across the Integrated Care System.
  • Collaborate with partners across the ICS to identify and deliver the ICB's statutory responsibilities for PEoLC in line with NHS England's Statutory Guidance for ICBs.
  • Lead, coordinate, and project manage the implementation of strategies and policies to improve palliative and end-of-life care services.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with statutory and non-statutory partners to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Work across the whole economy to redesign, modernize, and improve services, ensuring that they are patient-centered and meet the needs of the community.
  • Coproduce plans with people with lived experience and partners to improve outcomes and experience for patients and their carers.
  • Communicate effectively with partners at all levels of the system, both internally and externally.
  • Oversee and deliver the Palliative Care and End of Life transformation plans for the system, reporting progress and management of risk to the programme board.

Requirements
  • Experience of working across agency and organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to negotiate on difficult and controversial issues, including contracting, performance, and change.
  • Ability to critically appraise research evidence and interpret its relevance to system reform.
  • Ability to apply expert analytical skills to highly complex issues.
  • Subject matter expertise in palliative and end-of-life care, with the ability to make judgments involving complex facts or situations.
  • Positive and effective communicator with good presentational skills, capable of conveying complex concepts.
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to summarize information and key issues.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organization from national policies or guidance.
  • Must be able to use initiative to decide relevant actions and make recommendations to the Sponsor/Manager.
  • Effective organizer with strong personal qualities, including a willingness to engage with and learn from peers, other professionals, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference by focusing on goals.
  • Considers the most effective ways to promote equality of opportunity and good working relationships in employment and service delivery.
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the post and travel to locations across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent.
Education and Qualifications
  • Educated to Masters level or have equivalent experience working at a senior level in service transformation/commissioning within a specific portfolio.
  • Evidence of post-qualification and continuing professional development.
