Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Service Manager to join our operational management team within the Women's and Children's Care Group at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and operational delivery of high-quality, patient-focused services, while driving forward an existing improvement agenda.

Main Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Oversee the operational management of clinical services within the Women's and Children's Care Group, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused services.
  • Performance Management: Lead the delivery of performance targets in the NHS plan to improve access to and quality of patient services.
  • Improvement Agenda: Drive forward an existing improvement agenda, identifying and implementing new ways of working to improve patient services and tackle staff shortages.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide effective leadership and line management for all staff, coordinating work to improve services and developing staff through teaching and training.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Current leadership and management experience in a clinical service, with a degree in clinical specialty or equivalent experience.
  • Management Qualifications: Postgraduate management or leadership qualification, or willingness to undertake a postgraduate certificate in management or leadership.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective communication within the service, Care Groups, and other external organisations.
