Your responsibilities:

The Health and Safety Consultant will ensure compliance with legal standards and promote a culture of safety within the organization. Key responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing Health & Safety management on demolition projects.
  • Identifying risk reduction strategies and conducting regular site inspections.
  • Documenting inspection outcomes and generating reports with recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to assess and manage the risk profile of the business.
  • Serving as a point of contact for expert advice on safety processes and health-related topics.
  • Managing time and stakeholder relationships autonomously.
  • Implementing the Group's Health and Safety Policy effectively.
  • Monitoring site performance to identify areas needing additional support.
  • Taking appropriate action in response to serious safety concerns.
  • Facilitating reviews after incidents to ensure thorough investigations.
  • Communicating best practices and lessons learned within the team.
  • Assisting with the closure of actions from AVA Projects in a timely manner.
  • Engaging with operational teams during site visits to observe daily activities.
  • Driving improvements in risk management across operations.
  • Ensuring implementation of improvement projects at the site level.
  • Staying updated on relevant legislative changes and disseminating information to stakeholders.
  • Maintaining external accreditations through annual submissions and participation in audits.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders across various levels.
  • Supporting the bidding process and identifying project-specific risks.
  • Promoting safety practices by setting a personal example on-site.
  • Participating in improvement projects alongside the wider team.
  • Contributing to various safety and operational meetings.
  • Conducting and documenting site 'Tool Box Talks'.
What we seek:
  • Experience in Health & Safety within Demolition, Construction, or related fields.
  • Relevant academic qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH general certificate).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Motivation to foster a proactive safety culture.
Desirable qualifications:
  • Awareness of demolition processes.
  • Knowledge of asbestos safety.
