Employee Relations Specialist

The Position:
In this pivotal role, reporting directly to the Senior HR Business Partner, you will be instrumental in executing the People strategy within our Retail, Commercial DC & Central teams by providing expert Employee Relations (ER) case management guidance. Your responsibilities will include assisting line managers with ongoing ER matters throughout the organization, collaborating closely with the People Team to deliver pragmatic, commercially viable, and employee-centric advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver commercially oriented ER advice, prioritizing employee engagement in all initiatives.
- Assist line managers in navigating complex and high-level employee relations cases, ensuring alignment with company policies.
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to ensure that people managers are well-versed in company policies and procedures.
- Provide targeted training for managers requiring additional support in handling Employee Relations cases.
- Enhance the capabilities of our People Managers by developing HR frameworks and tools that foster engagement and understanding.
- Continuously assess internal policies and processes in partnership with HR Business Partners and the Talent team to drive improvements and best practices.
- Work alongside the broader People team to enhance knowledge and understanding, thereby improving the quality of service provided to the business.
- Proactively share insights and suggestions on enhancing the ER support provided to the business.
Qualifications and Skills:
- CIPD qualification preferred, along with experience in a People function.
- Demonstrated ER experience (minimum of 1 year) in a dynamic, multi-site retail or commercial setting.
- Ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Proficient in analyzing complex information to effectively resolve issues while fostering capability development.
- Strong understanding of UK Employment legislation.
- Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Google Suite and familiar with MS Office tools.
- Skilled in building effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Capable of managing conflict with discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to manage and anticipate expectations.
- Proactive and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Able to coach and influence teams and individuals at various levels.
- Flexible in approach, ready to support the business as demands evolve.
- High level of initiative and professionalism in team interactions.
