The Position:
As an integral member of our team, reporting directly to the Senior HR Business Partner, you will be pivotal in executing the People strategy within our Retail, Commercial DC, and Central teams by providing expert Employee Relations (ER) case management guidance. Your role will involve assisting line managers with ongoing ER matters and collaborating closely with the People Team to deliver practical, commercially viable, and employee-centric advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver commercially driven ER guidance, ensuring employee engagement remains central to your approach.
- Assist line managers in navigating complex and high-level employee relations cases, adhering to company policies while maintaining a commercial perspective.
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to ensure that people managers are well-versed in company policies and procedures.
- Provide training to managers requiring additional support in managing Employee Relations cases within their respective regions and departments.
- Enhance the capabilities of our People Managers by developing HR frameworks and tools that promote engagement and understanding.
- Work alongside HR Business Partners and the Talent team to continuously assess and refine internal policies and processes, ensuring best practices are implemented effectively.
- Engage with the broader People Team to improve knowledge and understanding, thereby enhancing the quality of service provided to the business.
- Proactively contribute ideas on how to evolve and enhance the provision of ER support to the business.
Qualifications and Skills:
- CIPD qualification is preferred, along with experience in a People function.
- Demonstrated ER experience (minimum of 1 year) in a dynamic, multi-site retail or commercial environment.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
- Skilled in interpreting complex and sometimes conflicting information to effectively resolve issues through capability building.
- Solid understanding of UK Employment legislation.
- Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in Google Suite and familiar with MS Office tools.
- Adept at fostering effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Capable of managing conflict while maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to anticipate and manage expectations.
- A proactive and positive attitude towards changing requirements.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with strong organizational skills to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to coach and influence teams and individuals at all levels.
- Flexible in approach, adapting to changing business demands.
- High level of initiative and professionalism in dealing with teams.
