Watford, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom Majestic Wine Full time

Join Our Team:

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a skilled Employee Relations Advisor to become part of our dynamic People Team at Majestic Wine, the UK's premier specialist wine retailer.

About Majestic Wine:

Majestic Wine is recognized as the leading specialist wine retailer in the UK, with a robust network of over 200 stores across the country. Established in 1980, we have recently transitioned back into private ownership, thanks to the acquisition by Fortress Investment Group. This change has initiated an ambitious transformation and revitalization strategy, resulting in significant market share growth, an enhanced product selection, a revamped website, and the opening of several new stores, with plans for further expansion in the coming years. Our extensive range includes over 1,100 wines, spirits, and beers available both online and in-store, supported by our dedicated team of over 1,000 WSET-trained professionals who provide exceptional service.

Your Role:

As a key member of our People Team, reporting directly to the Senior HR Business Partner, you will play an essential role in executing the People strategy across our Retail, Commercial DC, and Central teams. Your expertise in Employee Relations case management will be crucial as you support line managers in navigating ongoing ER matters throughout the organization. Collaborating closely with the People Team, you will offer practical, business-oriented, and employee-centric guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver commercially savvy Employee Relations advice, prioritizing employee engagement in all initiatives.
  • Assist line managers in addressing complex and high-stakes employee relations issues, ensuring alignment with company policies and a business-focused approach.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to ensure that people managers are well-versed in company policies and procedures.
  • Provide tailored training for managers requiring additional support in managing Employee Relations cases within their respective areas.
  • Enhance the capabilities of our People Managers by developing HR frameworks and tools that foster engagement and comprehension.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and the Talent team to continually assess and refine internal policies and processes, ensuring best practices are implemented effectively.
  • Work alongside the broader People Team to enhance knowledge and understanding, thereby improving the quality and value of the services provided to the business.
  • Proactively contribute ideas and insights on enhancing the delivery of Employee Relations support to the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior HR Business Partner and other team members to create integrated HR solutions that align with organizational objectives.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary along with performance-related bonuses.
  • Generous staff discount of up to 20%.
  • 33 days of annual leave, including public and bank holidays, with an option for a Holiday Purchase Scheme.
  • Life Assurance equivalent to three times your annual salary.
  • A contributory Company Pension Plan.
  • Opportunities for career development, emphasizing the growth of our internal talent through comprehensive in-house training programs.
  • Exciting incentives that provide opportunities to explore our various vineyards around the world.
  • Complimentary on-site parking with electric vehicle charging stations.
  • Access to Retail Trust benefits, including discounts, savings programs, and support services.
  • Company maternity, paternity, and adoption leave after a specified period of employment.
  • Long service rewards and a company sick pay scheme.

We are proud to implement a flexible Agile Working Policy for our Support Centre colleagues, allowing a combination of office and remote work.

We eagerly await your application as we strive to build a remarkable team at Majestic Wine.
