Location: Attendance at the head office in Bradford is required as necessary, with travel to various locations expected as part of the role.

Employment Type: Permanent position, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday within the hours of 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Your Role:

We are seeking a Corporate Affairs Manager (Policy and Programme) to become a vital member of the Corporate Affairs Leadership Team (CALT) within the Strategy & Regulation division.

In this role, you will manage a small team and report directly to the Head of Corporate Affairs. Your primary responsibilities will include developing external policy positions and facilitating engagement with regulatory stakeholders and national decision-makers.

As part of the management team, you will contribute to achieving the objectives of the Corporate Affairs function and assist in strategic planning to drive positive outcomes for the organization and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead policy development initiatives, including organizing internal meetings with senior leadership and collaborating with subject matter experts to prepare comprehensive reports and briefings.
  • Oversee the Corporate Affairs program management, ensuring effective communication and strategic alignment across various functions.
  • Act as a senior representative for the organization in public forums and meetings with national stakeholders.
  • Establish clear policy positions and implement strategies for influencing key areas.
  • Manage and mentor two team members, focusing on national and regulatory engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in policy development, ideally within a governmental or think tank context.
  • Ability to communicate complex topics in an understandable manner.
  • Demonstrated success in improving team performance.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and strategy formulation.
  • Background in incident management and public affairs.
  • Experience representing a well-known organization in public discussions.
  • Capability to identify and mitigate reputational risks.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders across various sectors.
  • Experience in leadership roles and engagement with executive boards.

This position requires travel across the Yorkshire region, necessitating a valid UK driving license with minimal points.
