Strategic Analyst IV in Consumer Product Risk Management

Position Overview

This role is dedicated to conducting advanced analyses aimed at enhancing portfolio risk, profitability, performance forecasting, and operational efficiency for consumer products, particularly in the credit card sector. The successful candidate will leverage expertise across various business and technical domains to independently spearhead strategic enhancements, large-scale initiatives, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute in-depth analyses of financial models, market data, and portfolio trends to gain insights into product performance and optimize portfolio risk and profitability.
  • Guide and mentor colleagues to enhance their proficiency in diverse systems, serving as a subject matter expert across multiple business and technical areas.
  • Identify and communicate business trends influenced by economic and portfolio conditions to senior leadership.
  • Support the execution of large-scale projects, including platform transitions and new project integrations, through advanced reporting and data-driven insights.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Preferred MBA or advanced studies in finance, accounting, or business management.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a proven track record of utilizing data and metrics to identify underlying issues.
  • Basic knowledge of first and third-party fraud dynamics.
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring others.
  • Solid financial acumen and understanding of fraud loss factors.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SAS or SQL, along with experience in e-Ledger and Enterprise GL tools.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in fraud analysis or related analytical/financial roles, preferably within payment card or retail banking finance.
  • Exceptional quantitative, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities.
  • Confidence in finance and accounting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and lead.
  • Ability to engage with executive-level personnel professionally.
  • Proven capability to present, support, and influence senior management and stakeholders.
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to challenge existing processes.
  • Leadership skills with a focus on team and individual development.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Proactive in identifying, analyzing, and enhancing existing processes for optimization.
