Position Overview

The role of the Consumer Product Strategy Analyst III is pivotal in executing sophisticated analyses and modeling techniques aimed at reducing loss exposure and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position requires leveraging various analytical tools such as Excel, SAS, SQL, Tableau, and other relational databases to deliver analytical support for strategic initiatives, ensuring that organizational objectives are achieved while recommending policy and procedural enhancements within segmentation frameworks for optimal outcomes.

The Client Protection data analyst will be responsible for providing comprehensive analytical and data support for both fraud and non-fraud consumer products. This includes generating Adhoc reports and fulfilling analytical requests to bolster fraud and claims lines of business (LOBs). The analyst will also coordinate the development of performance reports and updates for key stakeholders across strategy, claims, finance, and product sectors. Utilizing established databases, the analyst will extract performance insights that are crucial for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Propose strategies to assist the business in achieving targeted outcomes and facilitate informed decision-making through data analysis results.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of financial models, market data, and portfolio trends to evaluate product performance and enhance portfolio risk, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation of product performance reports and updates for senior management.
  • Analyze intricate data sets to derive insights into trends related to incoming and loss occurrences or to pinpoint potential issues.
  • Develop Adhoc reporting for Consumer Card Products and associated channels.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiencies through data analysis.
  • Provide accurate metrics pertaining to fraud and claims activities.
  • Ensure the integrity and quality of data necessary for conducting analyses.
  • Collaborate with claims, policy, strategy, and product teams to deliver data insights and analyses that guide critical business decisions and support goal attainment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive analytical experience encompassing data mining, report development, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in SAS/SQL and Excel.
  • Strong quantitative, critical thinking, and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with executive-level personnel across the organization.
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a virtual team environment.
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to challenge existing processes.
  • Ability to proactively identify, analyze, and enhance current processes to optimize performance and meet deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in fraud analysis and/or analytical roles within a Payment card or Retail Banking context.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, operations research, finance, business, or a related analytical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with a proven ability to utilize data and metrics to identify root causes.
  • Basic understanding of first and third-party fraud dynamics.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, Python, Hadoop, and Pyspark.
