We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Marine Engineering Consultant to engage in a diverse range of consultancy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Marine Engineering Consultant, your role will involve:
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of all service lines and their primary deliverables.
- Evaluating incidents to determine the nature, extent, and cause of damages.
- Calculating repair costs and drafting detailed reports for clients.
- Promoting Engineering Consulting services to both local and international clientele.
- Supporting marketing strategies for the business line and its offerings.
- Maintaining a billable utilization rate exceeding 70%.
- Performing additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Ensuring compliance with company QHSE policies, procedures, and regulations across all ABL locations.
Candidate Profile:
We seek motivated and solution-focused professionals with robust technical skills and sound decision-making abilities. The ideal candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and challenges simultaneously.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified Chief Engineer (STCW class 1) or equivalent, with substantial survey or consultancy experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven knowledge of industry standards and codes, with the ability to apply them effectively.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, focused on operational excellence.
- Ability to deliver precise, high-quality work punctually while managing multiple tasks.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, ethically grounded, and professionally poised.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and commercially astute.
- A collaborative team player with a pragmatic approach.
- Relevant short courses, such as high voltage training.
- Experience in consultancy and technical ship management.
- Knowledge of marine insurance, admiralty law, and surveyor qualifications.
- Expertise in vessel dry dockings, machinery damage, and repairs.
- Public speaking and professional networking experience.
- Membership in professional organizations like IMarEST is advantageous.
