Position Overview
Be the driving force behind maritime innovation. ABL Group is seeking a dedicated Marine Engineering Consultant.
As a key member of our Maritime consultancy, you will engage in a diverse range of surveying and consultancy activities.
Key Responsibilities:
In your role as a Marine Engineering Consultant, you will:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our consultancy services and their essential deliverables.
- Assess incidents, determining the nature and extent of damages.
- Prepare detailed estimates for repairs and generate comprehensive reports for stakeholders.
- Promote Engineering Consultancy services to both local and international clientele.
- Support marketing efforts for our consultancy services.
- Maintain a billable utilization rate exceeding 70%.
- Perform additional responsibilities as directed by management.
- Ensure compliance with company QHSE policies and procedures across all operational sites.
Candidate Profile:
We seek proactive and solution-oriented professionals with strong technical expertise and decision-making abilities. The ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified Chief Engineer (STCW class 1) or equivalent with substantial experience in surveying or consultancy.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficient understanding of industry standards and codes.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills focused on operational excellence.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work punctually while managing multiple priorities.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Proactive, ethical, and professional demeanor.
- Highly organized and commercially aware.
- A collaborative team player with a pragmatic approach.
- Relevant short courses, such as high voltage training.
- Experience in consultancy and technical ship management.
- Knowledge of marine insurance and surveyor qualifications.
- Expertise in vessel dry dockings and machinery repairs.
- Public speaking and professional networking experience.
- Membership in professional organizations like IMarEST.
