Alstom also maintains 66% of the UK fleet through its Services division and is recognized as the leading provider of CP6 signalling and infrastructure solutions.

Your Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on Aventra Units. You will oversee vehicle examinations in accordance with Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMI's) and perform various maintenance tasks to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, and defect-free trains. You will be accountable for your own safety and the safety of others under your supervision, ensuring adherence to Depot Protection Systems and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute technical maintenance to the required standards, following all maintenance guidelines.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all maintenance documentation before validation by the Shift Production Manager (SPM).
  • Report to the Shift Production Manager regarding the identification of outstanding work at the end of your shift.
  • Operate powered plant, lifting, and mechanical handling equipment safely.
  • Identify and report any issues with processes, tools, and documentation to the Shift Production Manager or Facility Management Team.
  • Recognize and address potential Health and Safety concerns.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety regulations and depot procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Assist the SPM in achieving Quality, Waste Reduction, Delivery, and EHS targets.
  • Generate detailed reports on specific fault-finding investigations.
  • Propose potential improvements and provide feedback to the Engineering team.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance processes.
  • Coach staff on best practices and quality standards, assisting the Shift Production Manager in identifying training needs.
